She isn't okay,
He isn't okay,
You're not okay,
I'm not okay.
We can't keep living this silly little fake life of how everything is okay, clearly nothing is okay. Everyone has something wrong. This whole world is wrong.
Like a good friend blogged,
Growing up: Your bestfriend becomes your worst enemy. Lollipops turn into cigarettes. The inncocent ones turn into sluts. Homework goes in the trash. Detention become suspension. Soda becomes vodka. Undies turn into g-strings. Kisses turns into sex. Remember when getting high meant swinging on the playground? When protection meant wearing a helmet? When the worst things you could get from boys were cooties? Your worst enemies were your siblings. Race issues were about who could run fastest. War was only a card game. The only drug you knew was cough medicine. Wearing a skirt didn't make you a slut. The only things that hurt were skinned knees. And goodbyes only meant until tomorrow?
Do you think that everything is okay? Do you think teenagers smoking, drinking, and getting high is okay? Do you think child abuse is okay? Do you think cutting some off on the highway is okay?
This is problem is much bigger than you and I, but a can reassure you nothing is okay.
